The Last Roll Call

The Last Roll Call is the annual Sirius College event where recently graduated alumni come back to share what steps they've decided to take after secondary school.

Over 500 Sirius College students, staff and alumni attended the 2021 Last Roll Call at Town Hall Broadmeadows. Year 10s attended in the afternoon while Year 12s attended in the morning.

Before the event, students were asked to submit questions they wanted to ask the alumni. Over 200 questions were submitted. Three alum took to the stage to answer the most asked questions, such as how to study smarter, how to figure out career options and how to manage stress.

They were going to hear from keynote speaker Sumeyya Ilanbey, a 2011 graduate and award-winning journalist at The Age newspaper, however due to the breaking news of Coronavirus cases in hotel quarantine, she sent her apologies as she had to work and sent a short video instead.

After the event, students were asked to share their opinions about the event. 88% of students said they left the event feeling motivated and 93% said they wanted to remain connected to Sirius College after they graduated.
